How to Get Over a Cold
We’re right in the middle of a flu outbreak and things are never great. A runny nose, sore throat, and cough are common when you fall victim to a cold. Colds are almost inevitable except for those whose immune systems are strong. And how do you strengthen your immune system? The answer is onion tea.
Onion tea is an age-old remedy full of antioxidants and vitamins that can easily boost our system. Of course, there’s no cure for the common cold that works 100% of the time, but this one is as close as it gets. Along with garlic, of course. The cafeeine-free tea can help you recover thanks to its antioxidants and the vitamins it possesses.
Does It Really Work?
Yes, it does. Onion tea is a powerful decongestant that can easily soothe the symbols of a cold or the flu. It’s all thanks to the presence of powerful antioxidants that can alleviate the symptoms.
Rich in a compound (polyphenol) known as quercetin, onions can strengthen your immune system and reduce the risk of infection.
Bacteria and viruses cause serious inflammation in the membranes of your throat and nose, making you feel sore. Luckily, the anti-inflammatory properties of quercetin can reduce the inflammation and prevent further problems.
Aside from quercetin, onion tea is also full of vitamin C which, as you probably know, is a game change for our immune system. A cup of onion tea in the winter can effectively recharge your body and regenerate your immune system so you can fend of colds and the flu better.
